Since the Stat B is an Electrostatic Element, I think the Input Impedance isn't as critical as it is with a Piezo.

If you are in the U.S. Grace Designs offers both a soft carrying bag and a hard case for the Felix. You just go to the Felix page on their website and click on accesories.

I'm planning on getting a case like that which will fit my Felix on top of my MB800 instead of getting the separate cases for each.
Agreed, Ric. But with the little silver impedance selector switches conveniently located right next to the input jacks, it was impossible to resist the urge to test that hypothesis.

A Felix Noir is officially on its way to Alaska. I'm really looking forward to it!
First action pic of my Felix Noir! A gig with vocals, percussion, guitar, and sax for appr. 200 people, no PA. Mixed my Schoeps mic with a Zadow magnetic pickup (60% mic, 40% pickup), used a notch filter on the mic channel and a hpf on the pickup channel, no further eq., into my Schertler Jam 150 Extension. It sounded great! The combination of a magnetic pickup and a mic may seem odd, but it did work. I expect that the Schertler Stat B will be an even better partner for the mic, though.

Vincent - in that pic, where do you stand in relation to the sonic path of what's coming out of the speaker? From the looks of it, the speaker would be firing right into the body of the bass, which if i did that would cause lots of feedback.

As to Chris's question: I stood behind the music stand, with the Felix at my right foot. As a result, the bass was more or less perpendicular to the cab, with my body standing between the cab and the bass. Even when I had just the mic on during soundcheck I did not get any feedback, although, just as you, I initially suspected that I had to reposition the cab. The Schoeps mic is incredible, though, in rejecting sounds not produced directly in front of the mic.
I played really loud during this gig, louder than I was used to (this was my first gig with this singer, and since she sings poppy songs, the overall volume was louder than the typical jazz gig), so the Felix arrived just in time and already proved its worth! Regardless whether it is silver or black, it is a wonderful and extremely practical piece of gear, and well worth the price of admission.
BTW: I love the mute switch!

For the first time I used my FELIX to double on a gig and it was pretty fantastic, I gotta say 
Can't wait to play out with this thing. It made me sound good in the practice room. I was able to squeeze this with my Fdeck and a mini Polytune on the older Nano pedal board. I figured I'm set for gigs where I trust the supplied back line. Can't wait until Jhawk finishes my F212.
What I love about the Felix is you can ditch the FDeck, because the Felix already has a very effective HPF and variable impedance loading on both Channels. That wil give you lot's of space on your pedalboard

Yeah, but I'm using the notch filter setting on both channels, although I currently do have my clicky channel turned all the way down, so that's why I added the fDeck.

Interesting, I've yet to encounter a gig where I needed a Notch filter to eleminate feedback. The Felix EQ section seems to take care of that.

Same here! Haven't needed the notch yet. I did set the notch up high once to get rid of some scratchy midrange, but I've never needed it for feedback yet
Wow. I am in awe. Looking forward to using it on a gig but for now, the combo of Remic Red > Felix > AI power section > MAS 45 is truly something to behold. A student brought his bass to school and we mixed in a K&K wing pickup to the above on his laminated bass and it's even better. The mic pre is lovely, but as one might expect, it really shines blending two signals. I'm going to try out the Lifeline, Ehrlund and Troll over the next few days. I anticipate excellent results with each.
