This is completely possible but I need it in our crappy practice space. I'll have to switch the DIPs before my first show out with it and see how it goes. Of course I'm playing an old Kay that I feedback proofed myself and not some high-falutin' Blast Cult. :-)

Well, if I've done the finance math correctly I'm going to order one of these bad boys. I was going to hold out for the Alix but I've had a good couple of months and have saved my pennies.

The Felix is a little overkill for me, but what the heck. I will end up using pretty much all the features (48v phantom power, fx insert, both channels, etc etc) at one time or another. I figure I'll assign Ch1 to electric and Ch2 to URB.

The only concern for me with this concept is not being able to use both the HPF and Notch Filter at the same time on the URB channel (Ch2). But I wouldn't be able to use both at the same time on the Alix, either. So screw it!

This does seem like an odd feature to leave out for a high end product like this however I've found that more often than not, in live situations, the notch filter isn't needed.

Yes! The first black Felix in Europe, I think. And oh boy, does it deliver. It sounds at least as good as my Glockenklang pre, only with far better eq possibilities and two channels! My girlfriend promised me to give me a Schertler Stat B for my birthday (in April). And although I really like the mic-only approach with my Schoeps (especially now that I have a notch filter), I look forward to combining the mic with a pickup during loud gigs.

Yes, more than once I've wished that it had an on/off switch. But not essential. And one other thing, it's too nice a piece of kit to put on the floor and stamp on it. So could it perhaps have a socket for a remote foot switch. Or perhaps I've totally missed the point...........

It Does have a remote foot switch if you want to keep it protected....but Having it oon the floor has a lot of advantages...short leads easy mute, visual reference, one cord to amp...etc. I think they made it pretty robust too for the floor...having two short leads from the bass (mic and pickup) and one longer to the amp makes sense to me...

Not only is there a remote footswitch option, there's also an option to add a mic stand adapter to have it on a mic stand or to mount it to a rack shelf.

But it's very sturdy.

Sorry folks, flatback and edwin, yes it does indeed have a remote option, clearly marked fs. My only excuse is that the Felix is so comprehensive in its functions that I never noticed. I'm quite happy with Felix's performance mounted on top of my cab where I can reach the three stomp switches. I wouldn't want clumsy jazz musos tripping over it.

Would like an on/off tho'.

So this could apply to the Felix, Greenboy and Fdeck but this is my upright a couple feet away from an F212 running through a Felix and an fDeck into on MB800 with the gain and volume at about 11:00.

Absolutely no feedback.

As long as you don't use a pickup (you mentioned a lot but not your pickup that might have a large influence, specially if it's missing :smug:) it's no wonder you don't get feedback.

If you use a bridge wing pickup, the deuce bridge you didn't mention might have an influence too, since it's easy to fine tune the pressure on these kind of pickups.

And it depends also on the sound you dialed in. Others might prefer a different kind of sound that would feedback in this situation.

Finally it looks like you have a ply bass. Things might be very different with carved or carved top bass.

Just to say if it works for you it doesn't need to work for others.

Just bought a Felix (should be here monday), I am really looking forward to getting rid of all the 9volt boxes. Right now I have been experimenting with the Stat B and Underwood going into the Headway and that is two 9 volt boxes on top of the amp. Fool for low profile that I am I got some of that super velcro and stuck the Focus to the back of the MAS 46...it still fits in the case and I can keep the speaker and cord plugged in, kind of like a home brew MAS 46 combo amp. THe Felix will be on the floor (I hate cords and I am trying to figure out the best way to have a mic and pickup plugged in to it with the shortest practical cords and then the neatest simplest route back to the amp. Radbass is going to send me some pictures of the Ice modules he builds. (although my frankenamp is great and now that all those buttons are behind it where they wont confuse me (I have a whole new set with the Felix) I still would like to have a Felix and a dedicated poweramp. If the poweramp had a giant lit VU meter pulsing with the beat, I wouldn't mind at all...
