Graph Tech Ghost MIDI Interface?

Hi All,

I'm thinking of buying the Graph Tech "Hexpander" MIDI interface system for my 5-string. Anybody have experience with it?

The ghost pickups are not MIDI , it's a piezo pickup (one under each strings) wich uses the GK standard. Uses a 13 pin cable and is good for 6 strings max.
Does the same as these Roland pickups except they are piezos;

You have to use a GK compatible unit to convert the bass signal (GK) to MIDI. It can run one of these;

The pitch to MIDI function on any boxes from Roland , Axon (wich doesn't exists anymore BTW ) or Yamaha are VERY VERY VERY VERY far from perfect for bass.

I don't have the hexpander but I'm about to hook up the piezo side on my Barker. The Hexpander attaches onto that. So I'll be able to report on part of that system fairly soon.

FWIW - I've used the RMC setup and it works reasonably well down to say A - though you have to be clean. It worked way better than a GK3B... Below that latency with the current technology is an issue. My answer was to transpose my patches and octave down and play them an octave up. Not super convenient but it was workable. I was driving a GR-20.
