Great Loud Amp for Cheap

I scored a nice Peavey Firebass 700 from Music Castle -- $300, shipped, and it's freaking WICKED. My cabs aren't rated to 700w, so I've never turned the volume past 3 and that's STILL pretty loud.

Peavey = good stuff!

I have owned 2 Behringer Mixers and a Modeling guitar amp and was not happy with any of them. None were a bass amp, but in general I think they are cheap, cheap, cheap. On the mixers the parts were flimsy, the output was noisy, and the effects sucked. On the guitar amp, it actually sounded really good, but the different effects all changed the overall volume level of the amp in different ways... so it was worthless live.

On some of the reviews for the BX3000T I heard this same rant. The reviewer said every other B product he/she owned sucked, until this one.

This particular amp just may not fit in with the rest of B's products.

I will tell you I tried an ampeg bass head and cabinet at a local store and I thought it sounded pretty muddy. I know ampeg is decent from reviews, but that setup sucked. So even from a company you know people tellyou is good there can be sucky setups. My home theater subwoofer sounds better with my bass hooked up to it. That's a 75W part express amp and a 10" dayton titanic.

You'll notice there are currently several threads on this forum started and supported by newly registered members (March 2005) that love their Behringer gear. Remember to take a look at a poster's public profile and especially their history of posts to determine for yourself whether to respect a poster's opinion or to discard it as marketing spam.
