i hear ya. btw,.. those Ibby's just kill, though! i almost bought that model from GC after playing it for just 10min. 
I had to watch that twice. If I didn't have some family stuff to do shortly I would be hitting the shed after seeing that. Thanks again Doc.
A gentle reminder that a $1000+ bass, does not make you a better bassist only practice can do that.
The quality difference between the entry level and premium instruments keeps getting smaller and smaller as the manufacturing process keeps improving! One day soon there will hardly be any difference - only the wood and some frills.
My friend buys some amazing acoustic guitars for his music store that he can retail for around $100-125. Impossible just a few years ago. My favorite bass is still my $180 Jaguar SS ($100 used).

As someone said in the YouTube comments, at times, that guy sounds just like Victor Wooten, but he did it on a $240 Ibanez. By the way, I am not hating Ibanez at all. There are at least three Ibanezes under $1,000 I would love to pick up today if I could.
Ibanez makes some great stuff. My only 5-string is an Ibby SR1205e Premium model. Great bass and mostly used for session work now.
The those Nordstrand loaded Ibanezes are killer. I am in love with the SR655 which has offshore Nordstrands for $749.
Those are tempting but since I got my Sandblasted Precision and Jazz I haven't really wanted to get another bass. I love the Nordstrand pickups, some of the best IMO.
Proud owner of a SR300! The tone, versatility. and playability for that price point makes me smile every time I play it.

I love my SR300. It just feels so right and sounds so good.
What year is that SR300? Mine has 5 knobs. Go to 47 seconds in, and you'll see there's only 4.

The 5 knob model is newer and was introduced about 1.5 to 2 years ago. The bridge and pickups are also slightly different.
Cool video. I'm sure a good bassist could play the sh*t out of my Squier P-bass. Hopefully someday I will, too.
Ya know, if he can play a $500 Ibby that good just imagine how good he could play a $15,000 Fodera!
