I'm gonna be that guy

Gogol Bordello - Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike

I watched most of the documentary on Netflicks, and walked away thinking that while they're having fun, they also full of sh%%. Unless you can tell me why I'm wrong, or that it's just the accent that makes me feel like I'm getting swindled into tyranistic government or a cheap watch... I'll stick with Dropkick Murphys or Flogging Molly as my ethnic punk.

idk when you spend your life traveling from eastern to western europe then to the USA i doube your full of **** when it comes to ethnic music

Cool, thanks! Samiam was never hugely successful in terms of mainstream popularity, but the people who liked Samiam tended to really like Samiam, which is gratifying.

Well, maybe not mainstream (but who wanted this in the 90ies anyway?), but you were a big player in the hc/punk-scene over her in Europe. Especially 'Capsized' was kind of a hymn for many years. So don't make yourself smaller than reality.

Have you ever been to the Schlachthof in Wiesbaden, Germany on tour back then? If yes, I was there, working at the bar, jumping around while the band was playing.

Today, Samiam is playing there again, but I can not go because I have to care for the kids tonight...something I could not image 15 years ago.

Yeah, I think I played at that venue in Wiesbaden. We defintely played in that city a few times. In fact, some of this new live record was recorded in Wiesbaden: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed].

I hear you about staying home with the kids -- that's my scene these days as well and a large part of the reason I'm not still out on tour with Samiam!

Yep, the Räucherkammer is exactly the place. The room with these metal bars between the columns where people used to hang during shows. This part still looks the same but they had to close down the big venue because it needs to get restored.
We'll be having Drag the River (Chad and John) there next week. This is going to be fun as they are pretty nice guys to party with.

I pretty sure saw you there at least twice and remember this as good times two. Maybe I even did the cooking for the bands.

Yeah, we also gig rarely because of work and families. But it has it's good sides, especially for the personal health;)
