Greatest Bass Solos

"Bonin' In the Boneyard"- Fishbone (band. but hopefully you already knew they were a band. Seeing they are the best band ever. This parenthesis is getting quite long.)

Also, greeeaaat bass solo. RHCP- "Coffeehouse"

on youtube, gustavo dalfarra, type in "amazing bass guitar" and click on the video of a guy who looks and plays like jesus.

A few of my favorites have already been mentioned. Another one is Roger Glover on "Pictures Of Home" from Deep Purple's "Machine Head". It's really short and not overstated, but really driving, builds to a climax and has a great rock tone.

Am I the only one to say it: ME! Last Saturday night, second solo, second set of three. Playful use of the melody, dissonant enough to suggest jazz chording, good rhythmic and tonal components...

One of those 'lightning in a bottle' moments..

Hmm. I only wish I played in a group in which those things would be useful, let alone appreciated. Not to say I could pull them off, regardless...

Chuck Rainey on "Kid Charlemagne"

I dont know if you'd call it a solo but is the sickness.

+1 on the Willie Weeks too. He's a monster on that whole album. I really like "Little Ghetto Boy"

I'll be a REAL bassist when I can play those note for note.
