I am not a big bass solo guy but check out "Nite Klub" by The Specials. If I could play like Mr. Horace Panter I would be a happy man!

Stanley Clarcke (playing electric) on the John Mclaughlin tune "Do you hear the voives you left behind?". That's like on the best bass solos I've ever heard, here:
