I don't think it sounds that bad. Just sounds like what it is; an inexpensive bass, made by people who probably didn't care less (as long as they made quota), in a country without a lot of history making such decadent Capitalist stuff like electric basses. And, no I don't think they made them (or anything else) in a lefty. I've never seen one for sale, anyway..

I am late to the party but STAY AWAY from Soviet Basses. Trust me on this one. Most of them are plastic - I kid you not. The reason it sounds bad is because it is. The frets don't line up with notes half the time either.
The Soviets were capable of great and beautiful instruments but bass guitars were not one of these.
I dig Moscow brand double basses though.

Green tort on a black P Bass would totally rock. I'm kinda trying to buy one now, if I end up getting it... Just wonder WTH you'd buy a green tort PG?

Im buying one tomorrow. It doesnt sport the original neck, but the replacement is also soviet (from Ural)
It costs me €175, which is around $210
