Greetings

Hello, All!
Been playing bass off and on for about 7 years. My background is actually more from acoustic playing. I play guitar, mandolin, fiddle, etc. Have played bluegrass, Old Time (Appalachin, etc), Irish Traditional, Swedish Traditional. I have been gigging with a folk rock group that plays classic rock, folk, bluegrass, etc.
Lately I have been playing electric guitar and bass in jam session type settings. Looking to improve skills and move into gigging. Also, nearing retirement when I will have a lot more time for this.
Thanks for reading, looking forward to discussions with you all!

Retirement - there is a need for entertainment in the middle of the afternoon. We've been playing retirement and nursing homes, birthdays, fairs, street dances, etc. in our area for 15 years - there is all kinds of gigging going on in the afternoon. And then there is Church on Wednesday and Sunday and you mentioned Bluegrass - we have jamming on the square each Saturday from 10:00 AM till ____ . Next town up has Bluegrass/whatever once a month 6:00 PM till ____.

When I retired I thought I'd go crazy with nothing to do, not the case. You'll have plenty to keep you busy. Welcome.
