Bit of a weird one here,
I’ve had my 4003W for about 3 years now although in that time I mostly played it unplugged at home as I didn’t have a decent amp, although I did plug it into an audio interface and never noticed any major noise, I’m noticing when I plug it into my new Fender Rumble Studio 40 that there is some sort of grounding issue or something else going on, other basses I have don’t hum through this amp.
There is a louder than usual buzzing/humming that goes away when I touch the bridge with my finger, I installed a TubeAmplogy Treble Bezel quite recently and I think something might have happened while installing that, I made sure to reconnect the grounding wire to the pickup screw as shown in the documentation that you get with the treble bezels. I took off the pickup again to make sure I put the grounding wire back on correctly yesterday and the buzzing remains, is it possible that it was pulled out to far that it disconnected under the bridge or that the grounding wire is damaged? I was pretty careful handling the pickup or at least I thought I was.
I’m pretty sure there is normal single coil hum with these pickups but it seems to have got really bad recently, my local guitar repair shop is closed due to the pandemic...anyone else experience this? suggestions?
