GruvGear GigBlade early bird

Yes it's near completion in production from what I understand. I can't wait to get mine!!!

Also, a note to clarify something from a previous post... during product testing, they decided the 840D nylon wasn't cutting it in the waterproof department, so they upgraded to a high 1680D nylon (that's twice the D's, people). I saw a pic in their Kickstarter update, and it looks pretty awesome.

I plan to post a review as soon as I get mine.

Mine was just delivered to my work. Won't be able to really check it out until tonight. Looks good through the plastic though :D

EDIT: Had some time to check the Gigblade tonight. Seems like a very solid gig bag with quite a few nice features.

I like the storage of the top pocket and, even though it gives the bag its unique profile, it does help to make up for the small and tight pocket on the side.

The inside of the bag is well made and should provide plenty of protection.

So far very happy with my Kickstarter purchase, but time will tell if these are these worth the $250 retail.

Paid in full 30 Aug. Radio silence ever since. Has any one received it other than Jayhawk?

They only started shipping them about a week ago and I think they were going to ship to Kickstarter backers and endorsers first. Since you pre-ordered in August you'll probably be part of another wave of shipments. Like Burwabit said, you can always email [email protected] and they should be able to give you an update. The initial FedEx tracking number they sent me was wrong and they were quick to send me the correct information. I wouldn't think it should be too much longer since they said they'd have extras available at the release party last Saturday.

I tried it quickly with a couple that worked fine, albeit snug.

got mine last week, haven't actually used it yet, but noodled with it a little.

first impressions are it's kinda' snug, but with careful placement of the moveable pads it does the 4+1 inline J no problem and still protects the endpin well enough. the carry is interesting, still getting used to that. my only real potential concern is as mentioned before, micro amps in the big pocket, but I think there might be just enough flex there to take one ok. i'm sorta' predicting that little velcro strap across the zipper line will eventually annoy me tho.

other than that, seems to be very well made, and at least to me, not particularly heavy (or light for that matter i spose)

more later.
