I have a 1972 Jazz (exactly like Geddy's) that was repainted and has replaced electronics and pickups. Great bass but I highly doubt I would get $2k. And that is with a black bound and blocked original neck.

Maybe that seller can rewrite your story for you and get $30,000 for it.

I actually did play my '72 at a late gig one night after hanging out at an earlier gig with one of Geddy's relatives at HIS gig. He had dinner with Geddy a night or two before. We shook hands and very likely hugged. Therefore Geddy's DNA is on my bass. I can't document it.... but $30k anyone? Ok... $2500.

All I can say is...judging by that highly enhanced black-and-white photo of Jaco playing a jazz bass....the one he is selling is for sure, without a doubt, definitely it....I mean how can you mistake it? It even has the same shape pick-guard!!! $20k is a steal if you ask me.
