That guy is so full of poopie, excuse my language. It pisses me off that he's not only trying to rip somebody off with his crap, but he's also using the name of a dead legend who can't defend himself as the means to rip someone off, claiming to have made a spiritual connection. I appreciate he has medical issues at the moment but he is a bare faced liar and should not be allowed get away with this. He's banking on nobody being able to disprove his claims and hoping for some sucker desperate for some tangible association with Jaco, rather than having any shred of evidence to back it up. Even the crappy pic he posts as proof has 60's bridge pickup position and clearly is nothing to do with the bass he's trying to scam with.
On the earlier listings he said it was all original, to his knowledge. It was only after he was pulled up on it on the ad by TBers that he started mentioning Warmoth.

Then he starts getting wise and mentions Warmoth. But now he changes the story to 1983. Did Warmoth even offer two octave length fretless maple necks in 1985? Then, having gone to the trouble and expense of putting a new neck, bridge tuners and applying a decal to the new neck, it immediately goes in the case where it sits for the next 28 years? Really?
So it's no longer all original but he did the mods himself, including adding a Fender logo, he just forgot to mention that in the first ad for $45,000? Compare the story in the first ad to the current one, spot the many differences.

This is an original 1975 Fretless Fender Jazz Bass made in Fullerton California at the original factory. Leo Fender was still there and probably made this bass himself. It is made of burly maple throughout and all original electronics and parts to the best of my knowledge. Famed and legendary bassist/composer Jaco Pastorius (of Joni Mitchell and Weather Report) gave me this bass and it has been in a case since 1982.

I have a story.
On November 8, 1983...
The original neck was cracked and warped; however replaced with a premium Warmoth burled-maple 24-fretless neck. The bass originally had many intonation and alignment issues. I installed Grover Tuners for better stability and intonation.
