Guild B-301 Crack in between fingerboard and neck

Hi everyone.

I have a Guild B-301 bass which I got a year ago. There is this crack in between the fretboard and the neck which you can see on the pictures. I don’t know if it got worse but I think it’s been like this since I got it. Do you think this is something might get worse with time or I shouldn’t worry at all?

Get it fixed. It can only get worse.

The first couple of pictures look like the fretboard is separating from the neck. You definitely want to address that.

Yes. It’s more on top than the bottom of the neck. I will take it to a luthier I think.

Looks to me like you've got a glue seam separating. I agree with the two luthiers who posted above.

I would recommend absolutely listening to the luthiers, however…

…I had a Guild S-60D guitar (same era, body shape and mahogany construction as B-301/302) with a similar separation, and it didn’t worsen, or cause any sonic/playability/feel issues over the almost 30 years I had it.
