I had one just like Phils . A 67 Starfire II .
Great sounding bass . I was getting into bands like Wishbone Ash and some Yes and a roundwound sound was needed . The Guild did it pretty well , it was a clear and those Hagstrom single coils were really why the bass sounded so good . I did change to a Ric after this bass because it the tone I had been after with rotosounds but the Guild was awesome .

Guild has discontinued the Emerald Green SFii unfortunately. I ended up with a flamed maple SFii.

The Flame Maple looks great!

Love my SFII. It mostly gets played in my genericana band but it has a very distinct sound and feel. It hits just right for me. Nice woody tone and good body sound definition. It’s not the most comfortable bass I own but it will always have a place in my arsenal.

I liked mine. But after owning a bunch of different similarly-styled body types (semi-hollow or hollow bodies), I've just come to the conclusion that I always end up not liking them as much as my "regular" electric basses. For ME, they're just not as comfortable. But it IS a very nice bass.

I’ve got flats on it now. Rounds were brighter and I might go back, but keeping the flats for now. They’re getting more character the longer I leave them on.

I had the same problem with the Jack Casady bass, very nice but...
Good thing I had something better.

Everytime I've picked one up at a GC I've been impressed. The neck is super easy to play and I love the tone. I wish I bought one a while ago when you could find them used in the $700 range. Love the green.

There was a good demo with someone playing a solo cover tune on one (it was a black and white video) but I can't find it, but came across this one that sounds fantastic.
