I'm sure this is a fantastic bass, but without the original bisonic pickup I wouldn't pay any more than $1000 for it.

I had one just like it back it 1969, no kidding paid $250 used for it (time payments) . Real beautiful bass but don't get nostolgic, it never sounded like a real bass it is a bass guitar. I ended up trading it for a Fender P bass. I don't think its worth more than $400. I know the Phil Lesh and Jack Cassidy lure but when I went Fender, I knew the difference. Today you have those Acoustic Basses, same deal to me they are not for me. However it sure is purrty, isn't it?

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion I suppose, but I went from Fender P's and J's to a vintage Guild starfire and "knew the difference" too... but apparently there are different differences to be known.
How's this for real bass?
