Guitar Center at it again

I was in GC recently because of a bass I saw on there. I go in and test it out and I was getting ready to buy it and then the salesman tells me it's already been sold online and takes it out of my hands and walks away lol.

Was a nice bass as well. A Warwick Streamer LX. Apparently it was the bassist from Bruno Mars, he brought 3 in and that was the only one left.

Ugh I despise them sometimes. Maybe they did the right thing and I'm just being bitter

I put 100 down on a 200.00 bass that just came in one time. I had to wait a week to take possession to make
sure it wasn't stolen. I came in a week later with the rest of the money to get my bass and they had it hanging on the wall for sale! Fortunately nobody snagged it. I was surprised because it was a mint CV 60's Pbass in sonic blue! I had been waiting to snag one of those and would have been really pissed if they had sold it before I got there!

Nice score!
Incredible basses.

GC is such a crapshoot, depends who's working there that month. Lousy service? Wait a month or two, they will all be gone, replaced by the next crop of fresh faces eager for low pay and no benefits. Welcome to McGuitars. My local GC (Braintree Mass) is ok, literally never seen the same employees twice though.
Do you ever go to Hanover music? I was curious if they were still in business. That's where I bought my first Jerry Jones Longhorn bass back about 1992. Used to play in a sports bar that was at Hanover mall also, but the name slips my mind.

And I suspect that they then checked the computer, and discovered someone else had beaten you to it, and had completed their purchase of it.

Sorry, somebody beat you to it, and there was no "it" that GC was "at".
That's sounds like exactly what happened but that instrument should be pulled off the floor right away if it was sold, unless of course the online transaction happened just as he was about to make his purchase.
