Guitar Center dumping Mesa or new models?

I think it's time that MAP, GC and a few other things simply go away.

Some shops and agile chains without crazy contracts as "authorized dealers", wouldn't that be great?

I wonder what GC screwed up about the amps. The guitars and basses are set up badly but the amps?

It's about quality control. If you owned a business and knew that a company that sold your products was not delivering on your warranty or promises I would think you would be mad as well. Companies reserve that right to make sure that retailers are able to sell their products reliably and according to what the manufacturer is promising the buyer. Mesa demands more than some are able to constantly deliver.

Well, I own Mesa equipment, and Mesa has come on here and set the story straight. Where is GC? Any official word on their part? No, not at all so far. Lots of different stories from their employees though. Makes me wonder if all of the GC employees are getting to the truth.

The reason for GC to post is what is stated in the Mesa Boogie post. Therefore, until GC comments, the Mesa Boogie post is what really happened IMO. Mesa is a truly great company. GC, not so much IMO. Glad to see Mesa thinking if the end user.

At the end of the day, do we really care? If you want Mesa products, there are plenty of places to get them. And if GC comments, it's not going to change anything. Nobody's mind will be changed one way or another if they comment or not, so it's lose-lose for GC.

Maybe y'all are getting pretty good deals on clearance and "firesale" Mesa's; my local GC's are only knocking a couple hundred bucks off of each model. It's a shame that GC and Mesa are parting ways but this is business. The combination of Mesa's set-in-stone pricing and GC's low profit margin on their gear made this inevitable. One less reason to shop at GC and one more to blow my cash local stores and on Talkbass.
