Guitar Center Used Items Experience

I have used Guitar Center used items a lot have have had nothing but great experiences. Often, I buy stuff just to resell locally because you can get some amazing prices and I swap gear like it is a second job.

Today, GC had a Madison Abraxas 1200w bass head listed for $49.99. Now say what you want about Madison but any head with this much power in working order will go for at a minimum triple that amount. I purchased it.

I just received an e-mail stating that "sometimes multiple people buy the same item" and that someone's order came in before mine. When you put a used item in your cart it is immediately taken off the site for a few moments to allow you to check out. I find it very unlikely that someone else clicked at the exact same time and we both got it into our carts and checked out.

I am thinking the store manager saw the order come in, realized that shipping a 60 lb. amp was going to cost at least $25 of the $65 it came to with shipping and tax and made up a story to cancel the order.

As I said, I have never ha problems and buy a lot of items through their in-store used inventory online. What is your take on this?

I have bought a number of used items from GC and always got what I feel was a great deal from my PRS Tremonti sig to assorted effect pedals to my HotRod DeVille amp. The best deal I ever got there was a spotless Peavey Fury V with bad electronics for $53. I replaced the battery and it works great.
