This had been sitting theree wayyyyy to long. I added it to my cart numerous times. Finally emailed the store to try to negotiate shipping and such and got a reply that "someone in the store must have just broken it and that there is a large crack in the neck and wondered if that would affect me wanting to buy it".
For poops and giggles I called the store and asked about it just to see if they'd disclose that it's broken. They did. For further poops and giggles, I asked what price they could come down to if I still wanted it broken (apparently there's a bad crack in the neck heel). I was told $300. I wished them the best of luck and have a good night.

I pointed out that an Epiphone T-Bird had a big gouge in the bottom at a GC up near Washington D.C.. It probably had fallen from the rack somehow. I didn't really have any interest in it after playing it, but the guy said they'd knock off $100 for the ding.
I couldn't convince myself to buy it & I'm a sucker for a discount.
I went on to Sam Ash the next day I couldn't say I appreciated any of the Gibson or Epiphone basses, so I was glad I had not bought that discounted T-Bird.

That is a reissue Ampeg, as the originals had a removable pickup, but it didn't slide out the way the guitar pickups did. The reissue bass (mid to late 90's, I think) had this feature. These are cool looking and sounding basses, and quite unusual as they are a 24 fret 30" scale bass. Read somewhere about a year ago that a company was trying to reissue these again, but with a 34" neck...don't know if anything ever came of that.
