Not exactly sure this is a hot deal, but it looks like this bass was made for Jamareo Artis from Bruno Mars' band. I can't imagine a Masterbuilt bass for a well known artist going for only $2500, but I'm also not sure if any of that helps resale. It'd be a cool piece to own, for sure.

I was in Brooklyn yesterday and stopped by the store. I don't know if it's a grounding issue or what but in any setting other than both volumes on full, the thing makes an ungodly noise. Felt good though. Neck's in great shape. Might be an easy fix.

Ah, that's why the lower price tag, because they're too stupid to fix it.

This looks like one of the cavern club models, which I think are somewhat rare. Not an awful price with a case.

That Modern Player is less than $400 new. I can tell by looking at the pickups that it's the new version & those pickups are a blade style with fake pole pieces on the pickups covers. They are very sterile compared to the real humbuckers that came on the older model.

I posted this on Brady's FB page. He said it's an early Ensemble model, medium (32") scale, and would be about $3100 to build.
