Well picked this up yesterday and it definitely was not in advertised excellent condition. Neck had to be shimmed and one of the tuners has bad rust on it. Pickguard looks like it was spray painted and doesn't line up. Most noticeably pickups sound really low powered and muddy. Adjusting tone knobs etc just didn't do it. Returning today and hoping I get a full refund including shipping
Don't settle for anything less. If they advertised it incorrectly, it's on them.Well picked this up yesterday and it definitely was not in advertised excellent condition. And if they give me a hard time?Don't settle for anything less. If they advertised it incorrectly, it's on them.
Ask to speak to a manager and threaten to call their regional or national headquarters. And if they give me a hard time?

It say's fair condition, how bad could it be for $90.....
I've played this as it lived in the greenwood, in, guitar center for quite some time. Owner swapped out the PUPs with EMGs if I remember correctly. Neck is fantastic but it originally had a fender logo on it that GC removed. They had this listed at 1299 forever and I never saw it sell. 999 is a more realistic price as it probably needs a PUP swap. Guy at the local guitar center said there is a bit of an Easter egg with this bass as the neck plate is original to like a 64 jazz. Not sure if this is true but worth checking if someone should see it. Of course this could be a completely different faded blue Ben Lindsey but I highly doubt it. If it is, just forget everything you just read.I don't know a thing about Ben Lindsay basses, (and I don't have a spare grand laying around) but dang it I want to play that beast.
I live 70 miles away from Sioux Falls. It might be worth a weekend trip just to check it out...
Just nabbed a Squier VM fretless Jazz for $180. (There was one more of them listed at the same price.)
I've owned a couple of the Squier VM and CV basses and have been very pleased. I plan to mod this one a bit!
I stopped by the Tulsa store today to check that one out,....but you'd already beaten me to it,...congrats,..hope its a player!
