I tried to play it today, it doesn't work. The salesman said they've tried to charge it multiple times (that system uses a special battery) and they can't get it working. Might be an easy fix (batteries are $35) or it might be a paperweight. Either way it's not accurately represented on their site.

I feel like GCs do this sometimes with the hopes of someone buying it online, having it shipped, then returned to a different store- basically just pawning off their bad buys to another store. I went into a local GC last year to try a 70s Ibanez “Lawsuit” era Jazz Bass that was listed at a great price, only to find that someone had made it fretless by sanding all the frets flat with the fingerboard (it wasn’t even advertised as fretless, and of course most GC used pictures are horrible). One of the salespeople said it was a recent return via another store that had shipped it. They will just drop the price over and over to get people to buy it without advertising it’s true condition until someone just decides it’s not worth the effort to return. It was priced so low I’d have ordered it myself if it wasn’t local. Because of the way the frets were sanded down, making it playable would require ridiculous surgery for what it’s worth (since there isn’t enough fret material on top to grab onto to pull the nubs out and they will always stick up when humidity is low)
I recently tried a blue one, it's electronics all sorts of messed up- out of alignment sensors busted volume pot and 60hz noise.
GC is hit or miss, usually miss.
My G&L was listed as "good" but showed up pristine for an amazing price, tried a "excellent" spirit bass and it was a rusted up hunk of junk.
My local GC is awesome, but most just don't care about anything.

As soon as i work up the nerve, im going to trade/sell a couple basses at GC to fund a Warmoth assembly. Ive got a weird feeling about it, but i know someone out there will play the Basses like they deserve to be played. Dont want to sell the stuff on my own.

You can call customer service and ask if they can help u out.... I did that the last time they had this going on and they refunded me 10%
With gc's excellent return policy, can't u just return for a full refund and re-buy at discount?
You can...... but a phone call is easier no? Why waste time and gas driving to GC..... lol and potentially tempting yourself in buying more gear since you're in there anyways
If memory serves me correctly - they helped me out in two separate occasions in refunding me, so I'd be surprised if they say no.
