No not really , I honestly just dont like taking the time to return basses tis a pain. I would buy it just to see if its as nice as it is because it is worth more then that if so, but i just moved from a state without sales tax to one that has it so now I am a tad more reserved buying stuff.

Same happened to me. I contacted a store that was on the other side of the country about a Washburn B20. Pics looked good but called just to get a better idea. They said it was a 8 out of 10. When I recieved it it was barely a 2 out of 10. Truss rod was snapped and looked like someone took a chainsaw to the back of the thing. Electronics where shot too. Was not worth putting a ton of money into a bass that was only $350 no matter how bad I wanted one for years. Got a bunch of grief returing it but eventually got all my money back including shipping.

The return policy really comes into play a lot. I've returned more used basses than I've kept, all cuz they weren't as described or defective in some way. My local store has two used basses with stripped truss rods. The website in no way indicates that there's anything wrong with either bass, and you wouldn't know till you got it and found that out for yourself. I only know cuz the guys in the store see me enough to tell me when I'm there that I just picked up a bass with a neck that's only good for firewood.

I've returned many basses at GC even if they were in good condition. I simply didn't like them. I've also kept the ones I liked which usually were a ridiculous deal! Including the hot rod p bass I just purchased, which plays beautiful. I can't see myself ever parting with it. I will also be receiving a 62 AVRI in fiesta red tomorrow which looks to be in great condition. The employee (bass player), assured me it was a great piece. We'll see how it goes. But that's the beauty of their 30 day return policy. Take advantage of it. It's their policy. Unless you physically abused it, their are no questions asked! Works for me!

Ampeg V4B Re-issue with two SVT212AV cabs. From what I have heard, these are virtually brand new. Ampeg had a contest giving away a V4B signed by Lee Rocker and two SVT212AV cabs. The winner was announced last week and the gear showed up at GC today. I guess the winner needed the cash!

Including alot of GC employees. I was in the New Orleans GC, and they have a MIA Fender Jazz Deluxe V. It was $1799. I played it and I wouldn't give them $179 for that bass. Don't they know a great setup helps sale a bass. Who would offer to buy an almost $2000 bass with terrible action, fret buzz, and scratchy pots. I like music stores that set their basses up. That let me know that they care.

Exactly! I swear, GC would actually do better in the world if there was a person in each store whose only job it was to make sure that the instruments they sell actually played right.
