I played it and it was sweet. These are cool basses, this one is gorgeous, and the price is low.
Ebay gets about $400 without a case!

My wife hates the fact that I insist on driving (rather than flying) to Cleveland every 3 months. Probably hasn't been one trip that I didn't come home with something, usually from either the North Olmstead store or the one in Holland (Toledo), OH! The Mayfield Heights store hasn't come through in a while.

Solid deals, the P bass is a 50s CV P bass, the jazz isnt the sweetest deal but solid and has a gig bag.

The pic in the listing appears to show two guitar-humbucker sized pickups with a bit of script on the bottom left corners of each. Hard to be certain, but looks to me more like

Selects used to be good sounding cheap pickups. I can't imagine there were many Gibsons that went out the door with them though.

Could be totally wrong about the whole thing, no expert.

At quick glance, the knobs have been changed and the pickguard don't look quite right...but those are minor!

Bet ya knobs are original, they probably said 78 since the serial says S8 but it could be up to early 80's. They switched to strat style knobs 79-80 IIRC.

I bought a Jazz like that and it looked as nice as that in photos and when I got it what a train wreck I had to part it out to make my money back. That one maybe worth the gamble, if its not as nice as stated just return it.
