Guitar Hero - great game... addicting!

I ment it in the overall aspect of the game. Yes you're suppose to get all the right notes, but that's kinda secondary to the "Rock out" aspect of it.
I'm gonna stick with DDR...I need to get good at one of these benami games, and I don't think guitar would be a good place to start.
Unfortunately, DDR causes me to sweat up a storm...which is nasty as hell.

The Guitar Hero addiction continues! I picked up my Guitar Hero 2 bundle yesterday!
Initial thoughts: This game feels much like the first, only a little tighter. Hammer-ons/Pull-offs are incredibly easy now; I use them all the time. The song list is fantastic. Of course, there are songs that I wish were on there, but you can't make everyone happy.
Let me be the first to say that YYZ on bass (expert difficulty) is a blast! John the Fisherman is pretty fun, as well.
The practice mode is a blessing. There are some insanely fast guitar parts in this game. You are now able to slow the songs down and play them section by section, the most difficult passages are split into smaller sections like "solo a, solo b, etc.
The solo in "Beast & The Harlot" has a section with what I am fairly certain are sixteenth note triplets!
At about 165bpm, no less! Good thing I picked up a new SG controller, I'm surely going to break it before too long. Oh, and don't forget Misirlou by Dick Dale (the theme from Pulp Fiction, if you've never heard of the song).
I only wish I was at home playing Freebird. *I never thought I'd say that!*

The best part about 2, the encore. I play at my friends' a lot and when playing with multiple people, you get an extra chance to rock out before having to wait for another frickin half hour lol.
My guitarist is horrible at GH. Im pretty good but our drummer totallytplyons said:
kicks our collective asses at it.
My friend got GHII... and it is freaking great. Some of the bass parts get a little boring (i.e. the ending of Message in a bottle), but its still a great game.

Trogdor is going to freaking rock. There are tons of great songs in the new GH, but that bonus song is what I care about playing the most.

I am totally hooked on GH2 ... to anyone that didn't play GH1, I recommend you pick-up GH2. The gameplay is even better than the first.
I gotta stop spending all my money on weed and buy myself a guitar hero lol. i'de probably be 100 times better at the game too.

i love this game but i really suck at it. this kid i work with, he has never touched a real guitar, but kicks a ton of ass at this game. he beat the whole game on expert in one day. In guitar hero 1, he got bark at the moon on expert, 98% and 5 stars. it was nuts. And his first time ever playing freebird on GH2, he got 84% and 4 stars, and this was on expert.
Knowing guitar does hurt you. Their 'power chords' use the index and middle finger rather than the index and ring finger which really throws me off. The game's more like Whack-A-Mole with your fingertips set to music.
