As easy as it is, you should absolutely kill it.
Maybe you could teach Eric Clapton, Pete Townsend, Jimmy Page, Slash, Bucket Head, and all the rest, how to be even better while your at it.

I know! everything is so small and fragile... everytime I try to play one, I end up sounding useless cause I press the strings too hard making me sound out of tune...
I figure the only people who think an instrument is easy are either purty darn good or purty darn awful.

Also, by your logic, the piano is the easiest instrument in the world, and the drums are the hardest. Yea right.
Also, how "easy" or "hard" an instrument is is irrelevant (unless you're and insecure, incompetent musician).

I actually played guitar for over 15 years before picking up a bass. When I first started playing bass I thought it was easy because it was. Now that I've grown in my bass playing and have learned a few more techniques and some theory, I find it can be pretty challenging to play how I want to play. That goes with any instrument. It can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be.
