Sad to say but this might be the last post I make on this guitar thread for the foreseeable future unless my luck turns around. My car has been bleeding me dry this month with it suddenly developing multiple problems after the cold front came through Texas (2 wheel bearings going bad and the battery having a bad cell) though the timing of it all seemed to be a coincidence but the straw that broke the camel's back was the mechanic finding that my transmission developed a minor leak (no drips but it was wet in the area) that would only get worse in time so I had to make the hard decision to sell all of my guitars and Marshall amp on short notice to pay the bill for the transmission work and cover wheel bearing #2 that was the cause of my 2nd visit in a week.

It really sucked but having reliable transportation is priority #1 and I at least still have my bass gear (albeit not being used much lately due to life intervening multiple times). Things have been pretty rough for the past 4 months (this month was the worst so far) but I'm trying to keep myself in high spirits and take it as they come.

Yeah. Not the typical guitar post from me but it was something I had to post to help get the stress out of my system.

Oh! I feel for you. I understand the need for reliable transportation. Is it worth just bighting the bullet and replacing the car? Sometimes repairs are more than the car is worth. Of course, that also presumes that you know enough about cars to determine said, and ensure that the replacement is better than that which is being replaced.
No. At the moment the repairs aren't eclipsing the worth of the car which is a 2017 Camaro LS but these last 4 issues hit at a very unfortunate time where money was tight because of the previous month speeding up paying off a debt I owed to my parents as well as getting a month ahead on my bills in order to snowball paying off other debts with the goal of being 100% debt free before 2026. I was prepared for the 2 wheel bearings and the battery (although I was going to be low on money in less than a week) but the transmission leak was unforeseen and beyond what I had planned for so thats when I had to make the call that something had to go and my guitars were the easiest to let go of (but still hard in the moment) because I've been unsure for some time if I was going to keep playing. The total cost of repair was $1800 but man did it hit hard because of when those issues decided to show up.

Interesting picture. But, I wonder:
- who they are,
- what they're talking about,
- when they were talking about it,
- what was said,
- where exactly this was found.
Copying random pix from online is fine, as far as that goes, but the information about them is even better.
I took the picture
It’s Randy Bachman being interviewed about his guitars.
That one there is a fifties Les Paul Custom.
The previous picture was his long lost Gretsch and the Strat he used in BTO.

lots of info about all of them online.
And lots of people like to look at the guitars.
Now you know what to search for.

These are some of Randy’s collection
There’s an original Fender Starcaster semihollow, and a prototype of a Bigsby reissue.
As well as a Howard Roberts model.

I took this one because I liked the pickguard.
Eastwood later made a version.

OutSTANDING, zonty! Now, that's what I mean about interesting context! When was this? Where was this? Did you win a drawing or just buy a ticket? Come on, man, don't be shy. 🎶

Randy lent a bunch of his guitars for a display, and appeared at a sneak preview.
A friend had an extra ticket.
It was over a year ago, probably about two years ago.
Maybe longer.
I took a bunch of pictures

Now, that's what I'm talking about, zontar, man! That's a completely fascinating post. Just sharing the pic doesn't tell the very interesting story. But the pic does bring your story alive. Please do more of this!
