gosh hope its he manage to recovers. 9yrs ago i also suffered a stroke, but not the bleeding type, ischemic stroke. i lost control, total control of my right side, and it takes a lot of time to learn to walk and play again, i still got some motor issues till now eg) un-able to run, involuntary spasm on my right calf, etc. among other things.

hope he recovers and recovers well.

Update on this - Last night we played our first gig since Ted's stroke, and I'm glad to say that he's back at 100%. He (and we) musically kicked ass, and his playing was tight and hot and wonderful. And a bunch of friends and fans came out to show their love and support.
Given that it was his left hand that was so much affected when the stroke hit, this was truly a beautiful night.

Mine, too but they both had bleeders. They smoked for decades and hopefully, the smoking is what caused them because I don't want to find out the hard way that it will be hereditary- I never smoked.

The second most interesting part of the story (after your friend's recovery) is that you play together so often, you recognized something was wrong by his playing. That shows a great deal of musicianship on your part, not a small feat.
