anyone have an insight as to what vibrato pedal he's using?

He had a TC Electronics Toneprint thing going on with them for their Shaker vibrato pedal a decade ago.

very cool that must be it. i was just watching some other videos with the same speculation.
i've always been leery of digital pedals like that because of any slight lag they might have, but if its good enough for Hadrien then i reckon it's not a problem. i may have to check that one out. the TC electronic Tailspin analog vibrato is one of my favorite pedals but its gigantic and only really does one thing (very well, with zero loss of bass freq) .

If a soloist has something to say and says it well, I don’t care if it sounds like an electric bass or not.

That said, that solo sounds exactly like a solo played on electric bass. It’s not even a six string, for cryin out loud.

FIrst time I saw Hadrien was in 2006 at the European Bass Day. He was already great then but he grew musically (a lot).
Saw Hadrien with Hiromi last October, awesome concert!

First electric bassist have received same comments: a bass should not sound like this. And what about Jaco ? Even Jimi Hendrix has raised guitarist hairs with his awful distorted sound. All these guys have showed that an instrument is not stuck in any sound or role. Hadrien has his awesome way to sound on the bass, and he's part of this team that pushes bass on new lands.
Big inspiration to me, One of the guys from who, i re-shaped completely my right hand technic and way to work on music.

All I said was that I, me, Geepers prefer to hear bass sound BASS. And I even admitted I was old-fashioned in this. That’s OK isn’t it?

I like this more, but it also feels like some of the faster runs aren't a great fit for what's going on underneath.
I don't really like jazz though, so it might be hard for me to like any music like this.
