HALL VS OATES

Hall is great, but all his best stuff is with Oates there.

Have you seen his 'Live From Daryl's House' series?
Admittedly, I was never a fan of Hall and Oates.
I love that show, but he's not creating new content just doing some great jamming. Over the almost 50 years Hall has done some solo albums, but none had the "thing" he has with Oates. IMHO and all that.
I really like "Daryl's House"
He's had some cool and surprising guests
Some are more in his wheelhouse, while some really seem to challenge him
His band is basically the Hall & Oates backing band, and are quite good.

Oates does such strange and random parts, like certain guitar riffs. I don't even know how to classify him in the duo.
Ironically (or not) I live about 5 miles from where the diner on the cover of Abandoned Luncheonette was.
They're both great, but as a bassist I have to vote for T-Bone Wolk, who they referred to as the "&" between Hall & Oates.

Carrots. Those guys were pretty good at the blue eyed soul schtick, but their 80s MTV pop turn made it hard for me to take them seriously. Daryl's jam show is pretty good, I've def enjoyed some of those, props to him for getting back to the roots and keeping it real.

There wasn't an option to vote for Oates so I voted for Oats.

I enjoy Live from Daryl's House, especially the earlier episodes. I haven't watched any recent ones. It might be time to catch up.

Have tickets for King Crimson at the end of the month. Fripp is known for more than those quarantine fun videos. He's easily among the top 5 most influential guitar players of all time. His wife had more Billboard charted hits than you have fingers. As far as I'm concerned there's nothing wrong with a couple of married superstars blowing off steam during covid. But the cuffs are off and both of them will be out on world tours as usual.

He may be influential to select groups (mostly musicians)- but this has brought him to the masses! I hope he's back on his game for the tour.
