I have watched all this quietly because I did not order one of these but the last few post have got me wanting to share my view as an almost customer. Marco should know how this and mostly the third party communication lost a buyer.
As much time as he use to spend here we know he is reading this unlogged in.

Long backstory short (really) Wanting a five string bass all pointed to I will get a Hammersmith.
Liked what heard from other players and Marco's customer service/interactions on TalkBass.
THOSE TWO THINGS MEAN A LOT.

I had the money and was about to call an order just over thinking about what exactly to get, then people on this thread started asking for their money back. This caused a bit of a pause but was still ready to order, lets see how this weird line problem works out, things happen.

No communication and he just disappears. Hmm?
Then getting third party communication only, after so much time posting on here in the past. Even if very busy, using TalkBass was not new to him. :meh:

I ordered a Dingwall instead.

I am not a collector and only have two basses that have been using for over 18+ years, this was to be my long term five string and was ready to pay for it. Now am glad this name is not on my headstock for now I can not say to someone, "You should check them out" :( like is done with my Genzler and other stuff.

"You should check them out, they also have great people running it." real user recommendations is the way myself and most others like to buy.

Right or wrong,
JUST SHARING MY THOUGHTS AS AN OBSERVER/ALMOST CUSTOMER.

Well said sir...

He didn't want to come back to TB and post it himself? Clearly, it must be good news.

I would say it's neutral news. Just gives a more concrete explanation of everything (which for me is way better than wondering). I will absolutely be posting the info he shared with me, I'm not just bragging that I was able to speak to him. I'm just giving him the opportunity to reach out first.

If no one hears anything by late tonight, I'll share.
