I reached out to Marko a few weeks ago to adjust my request for a refund to accepting one of his other in stock basses. He responded immediately when it came time to speak about him still making money. When he didn't have an option that appealed, I returned to requesting his guarantee in writing for a full refund. Since then, multiple messages and zero response. Pretty disappointed. A lot of people are patient and understanding, and I am one of those, but I have money in limbo with zero indication of when what I ordered may be on it's way, and I'm overall displeased with the communication. My experience can be proven to be, if I want to hear from Marko, tell him I'll give him more money. If I don't want to hear from him, repeatedly insist on my refund, which he has guaranteed in writing in two emails over the months. Bummer.

my hope is that he was very busy getting ready for NAMM. Does anyone know if Hammersmith was there? I didn't see any Facebook posts from them

The thing is, that i came to an understanding with marko early may that he would make me another instrument to replase the K that never showed up.

Everything was pretty smooth... with marko standard...
But as sone as Everything was set and the instrument pretty much compleated, he disapeared, there has been no answers from him since 2 june.
This is easy money fore him, but still no sign of life.

Troublesome times!

That's pretty weird. You're saying the instrument was all ready and in stock and ready to ship...and then nothing?

It amazes me that after everything this nerd has pulled his customers are still surprised when he drops the ball. Guy cares more about attending trade shows than tending to his clients. Lame that anyone would feel proud of sporting his wares after the garbage he's tried to pull. Never understand the hard on some of you guys have for defending this dweeb and his fender clones.

Not sure that I'd have worded it quite so strongly but as far as the K Bass goes I can't say that I can say that @Vltir Sarnat is wrong....

Seems to me that Marko has used peoples "niceness" and better nature against them....

Personally hope that he falls over and grazes his knees...(And gets gravel in the grazes)....

Interesting, thats exactly what happened to me as well! Last communication June 7th.

Guys, I just chatted with someone who knows Marko a little better and he told me that Marko is actually in China right now meeting with parts suppliers. He also said that we should expect things to turn around soon. I hope he is right.
Maybe he should meet the bank to arrange some funds to pay back all his clients who paid deposits instead!

Exactly. All this means that he is blowing off people to which he's promised refunds or builds, and is banking on coming back with a solution, and expecting people will be more patient because he's made more delivery promises. As well, this type of trip is what FB and auto-responders are for, so his waiting clients don't get more and more irritated as to why he's not responding for weeks on end. Just want my money back that he's promised me. Starting a business is hard/busy work (have done it). But you can't just blow people off you've made promises to. This is how complaints get filed with the BBB.

That’s his second trip to China this year I think. Hopefully that means progress.

This is Marko's exact response to me:

Hi Paul. Everything revolves around my pending trip to China, which has been delayed numerous times. I'm locked into next week, though, and more firm answers will come from my meetings there. It's looking like late Sept/Oct for the first batch to be ready though."

If I'm reading it correctly it sounds like his first trip to China hasn't happened yet. I'm hoping for a solid update once he gets back.

So, I am one of the customers who chose to get a substitute bass rather than wait for a K or request a refund. My bass is done and will be shipping on Monday. The remaining balance on my build happens to come to exactly the amount that some of you need for a refund.
Evidently there is PayPal issue where they hold funds being used for a refund for 21 days.
Marko asked if I would be ok with sending my remaining balance directly to someone waiting for a refund instead of to him. I am ok with that if all parties agree to it and it well documented in a three way conversation and receipts are given to both myself and the receiver of the refund. What do you guys who are waiting for refunds think about that?

That’s a great gesture on your behalf but concerns me.
I have sent Hammersmith an invoice via PayPal for my refund some time ago with no response at all. Maybe I am not the only one and maybe PayPal have suspended their account?
Hammersmith could always communicate and maybe even do an eft into a bank account?
Th3n there is the decision of who gets the funds first?
Apart from being out of pocket for such a long time and on the other side of the planet, my biggest disappointment with this whole fiasco, is no communication from Hammersmith.
