Handbuild basses

So I've noticed lately that more and more bass players buy custom build basses, which are made by hand. Not only solo bassists buy them, but bassists that play in (hardrock / metal) bands get them as well..

I would like to know which TB-ers have hand made basses. If you have any, show them in this thread!

Two All-American handmades - my USA Spector NS-4, and my custom Neo "RockBass".

That's me, helping to build my Sadhana bass right here at Birdsong, smack in the middle of the great republic of Texas! Doesn't get more "handbuilt" than that! :bassist:

Hand built by our own Andrew Drake (Drake Custom Bass)...

My camera phone pics don't nearly do it justice, it's an object of beauty. Andrew posts progress pics of the build as he goes, which is pretty neat. Also, I do play it exclusively in a metal band. Though we aren't death metal or anything like that, more off the Black Sabbath tip. On the other end of the hand made bass spectrum, Kevin of Krappy Guitars is making me a 3 string dual octave course bass right now, based on a crude sketch I sent him. Actually, he just sent me a picture of it as I was typing this.

There is one big problem with custom, handbuild basses.

This minute you leave the shop. You will never get what you paid for the bass in resale.

Expect at least a 50% lose.

I've owned 5 or 6 custom made basses.
Took a lose one every one I had.
So, If you have one built, make sure your going to keep it.
They just do hold value like the big name builders.
