Here are some of mine, but only after extensive refurbishing, modding and refinishing. Yes, they are Wishbasses ...
Between the 12 hours it takes for Steve to build 'em and the 30 hours it takes me to transform 'em, I'd say that is pretty darn handbuilt!

Btw, how does the playing go for the bass that has that ''bow'' all way up to the headstock??

That's about the only way to do it. Probably save a pound or two. Probably cost a lot to develop it.
Indeed it is! A rare bird, for sure. Not the only one he has made, but still ... And, it's a short scale to boot. Since a low B string sounds like a loaded diaper hitting the kichen floor when it's only 31" long, I strung it E-C. I can't even tell you all the work that went into this one. I got it super cheap because it had a crack in the headstock between the nut and the lower part of the HS opening, rendering it unplayable. Steve repaired it but I decided to redo his work and in the process completely rebuilt/veneered the headstock, relocated the tuning machines and changed the interior shape of the opening to add some meat to the area that was weak. Whew, it was scary, but it worked out and this is one kool little bass. My next mod is to add a DPDT switch for the humbucker and mount that in a new purpleheart cover I made. Here's a few more shots of it ...

If I ever take the plunge it's going to be one from Cliff Bordwell. I love his stuff and seeing the examples here makes it all the more tempting!
When the time comes, you will enjoy it. His service is top notch and his prices are great. To top it off, Bordwell owners are very helpful and supportive if you have questions or ideas to try. There's a reason that he has a lot of repeat customers.
