hang over cure

In college, my friends had a hangover cure. Which consisted of smoking a certain illicit substance and listening to Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass. They swore by it, but I do not recommend doing illegal activities.

Anyway, hangovers are a result of dehydration, as well as your body's ability to break down sugars. A hangover is your body's way of saying "How can you do this to me?" Clear alchohol with less sugar like Vodka is less likely to cause a hangover than sugary drinks like rum or wine.

Like others have said pace yourself, and drink plenty of water. More importantly, have a designated driver or money for a cab.

Well.. partially, yes. The main ingredient of hangover, however, is the shock caused by sudden absence of the effects of alcohol in the nervous system - caused by the fact that you stop drinking.

So, the best ways to lessen the impact are:

1) Drinking less.
2) Drinking over a longer period of time.
3) Having something do slow the alcohol down in your stomach, ie. food.
4) Saving a last drink for the last possible point, preferably drinking it before going to bed.
5) Drinking only mild drinks.

Things that will make you feel better in the morning:

1) Eating a small meal before going to bed - BicMac meals and such seem to work nicely.
2) Drinking plenty of water/whatnot beause of dehydration.
3) Painkillers.
4) One mild alcoholic drink, if possible.

I mean if a big mac meal is a small meal, then what is a normal or big one?

Well, a normal "decent" meal for me would be a plateful of main course, a smaller plate of salad, some bread and couple glasses of milk or juice, perhaps some coffee and a small dessert afterwards. That would be eating at the school diner.

I must say that I've understood that the McD meals in the States are larger than in Europe, I wasn't thinking of that when I wrote it. Let's just say, eating some fast food.

All great points, & it does work. In fact, how many times have you seen folks have a bloody mary for breakfast? Hairy of the dog, baby!

There's actually a rumor that tomato might have something that helps for hangover, by the way, so a Bloody Mary would fit right on the bill :smug:

Well, at least in the case a of horrendous hangover, sliced veggies is the food to eat - light on the stomach and not too bad to hurl up, either :p

thaaaaat's a really bad idea. marijuana suppresses nausea and vomiting. if you drink too much, your body vomits up the poison so you won't, well, die. you do the math.
