Hard case for Mustang bass options

I struggled to find reliable information on which (new) hardcases that fit my Mustang. It is a MIM Fender Mustang P/J FSR black/tort with maple neck and fretboard.
I ordered two Gator cases from Thomann, as local shops did not stock these models.

Gator GC-ELEC-XL (part number 212516). It does not fit my bass, as the bass is too long by approz 2 cm (3/4"). Also, the G tuner in "worst position" would make this even harder to fit, even if the back end foam was cut out.

Gator GW-JAG (284273). Length is perfect, with about 2 cm to spare. The case is unnecessarily wide by 1" top AND bottom, but one could add ie a strip of foam to position the bass body better, if you carry it longer distances. However, as the distance between the lid and the lower part fits perfectly for my bass, you feel the bass in a reassuring grip, once the lid is closed. No sense of the bass bumping around as you walk.

I might add pictures later.

Just thought I'd let you folks know of a case that works great with my Mustang Bass.

It's the Gator Cases Deluxe ABS GC-ELEC-XL for Extra Long. It measures right at 42" in the interior, which fits both my Mustang Bass and Mustang Electric Guitar.
In case anyone finds this through a Google search like I did, not all Mustang basses fit in this case. I tried a JMJ and a Vintera and neither one fit.

Thank you so much for this post with complete model names and everything.

Like many others I bought the GC-ELEC-XL. The headstock gets sandwiched between the top and bottom of the case (after getting the G tuner out of the way...), and I personally consider that to be a bad fit, so I returned it and got the GW-JAG based on your comment. Fits exactly as you describe. Thanks!

Yep, this one works:

The Fender case costs $145.00 more than the Gator.

The ESP case in my post above got stolen with a different bass in it, so I had to pick up another HSC for a Mustang I bought recently. The rolled up, green microfiber cloth cushioning the body is just added insurance---the case holds the Mustang in place without it:

That's becomes weirder and weirder.

Here you can find user directly stating that JMJ perfectly fits into Gator GC-ELEC-XL
I think the user in that thread with the JMJ says that that it isn't a very good fit. If you detune the G string every time and really smash it in there, I guess you can get it to close, but I don't consider that fitting. The user who said that their Mustang fit well has a Player PJ Mustang.

I just need a case for one flight, so I do not care to detune. Unfortunately not much options. What bothers me, that someone tells, that JMJ does not fit at all. Unfortunatley, both sides does not provide any pictures

And full scale cases looks like also not that good solution.
