Hardwire[Digitech] CR-7 Chorus review

I actually got to try these out before digitech released them. To set the record straight, Digitech did not design these pedals at all. The company was independently known as Hardwire Pedals. Digitech, before Hardwire Pedals released their product explained that it takes a lot of work and money to get new pedals on the market, and selling well. So they decided to let digitech buy them in exchange for the networking of the pedals.

Hm, sounds like a good deal. I can see potential for these guys.
 
The effect is in bypass mode whenever there is no power applied to it. Even if you have the effect engaged and then pull power from it, it will go into bypass mode without hitting the switch. If your using batteries and it dies while the effect is engaged, it will default to TBP.

Are we talking TBP or relay TBP?

With true bypass, if your power shuts off, your signal will still be going through the non powered circuit(Ie no sound) until you hit the switch. This is because the switch is purely mechanical.

However, with the relay TBP, when the power shuts off it automatically goes to bypass. This is because a relay is a voltage controlled switch. When you love your voltage, it switches.

One pretty cool thing about them is they have relay based TBP switching so when they lose power they go straight to bypass mode. I played one at GC and it was mostly pretty cool. Very versatile.
