Harmonica simulator

A few years back I saw Richard Bona at Bass Day UK in Manchester. He had a few pedals he was messing around with, one of which made his bass sound like a harmonica. Does anyone know what that might have been?

I always thought that the +2oct setting with some clean blended in on the Boss PS-5 sounded a little like a harmonica.
