No it doesn't. It says either 4 or 8 ohms. No switch on the back

Plus the HX is a few pounds lighter. I've only played the HX so I can't speak for the HD. The HX was a nice light little cab, but not alot of bottom end for my taste.

The cutaway drawings of the drivers makes me think the HD models have ceramic magnets.

I could be wrong though...

Edit> HD driver has stamped steel frame instead of cast aluminum.

I've been curious about this as well. I have a pair of the HX 112s and love them. Only problem I have is the Tolex rips very easily.

The HD's paper cone has been reinforced with Kevlar vs paper alone

The HD's have a steel chassis vs. aluminum

The HD's = 50Hz–17kHz vs. 30Hz–17kHz frequency response (10" speakers)

I have check the hartke KB15 /KB12 and NEW HD500 combo driver spec , all of them use Neo magnet and have same structure like higher grade HX's driver.
For the price, i think KB15/12 and HD500 is worth for money.

But , at my local GC, HX 112/410 price is cheaper than HD 112/410 !

A hd212 cab would be very tempting, if it were ever made. Vertical alignment, of course.

I bought three of these cabs (HD112) a couple of months ago and I am really happy with them.
They sound great. Super quick and articulate with plenty of gut pounding bottom end and the ability to cut through the mix.
I use one, two, or three of them depending on the venue and the band that I am playing with.
Powered with a mesa D-800 (switchable to 2 ohms) they command authority yet remain very musical.

Well...its kind of a mixed bag.. I tried it in a small club at 4 ohms..on a stand..and I could barely hear it. Them I tried it paired with a pair of 2 x10 s and it sounded great..but the 210 cab I have is heavey as heck! I think that if I got another one ..it would probably be perfect.. still in testing tho..

What's holding in the drivers on the HD? Wood screws or threaded inserts?
