Hartke LH1000 need help!

Currently I'm using a Behringer head bass (300 watts) and a GK cab (500 @ 4ohms) I want to upgrade to a hartke LH1000.

For the Hartke I'll use 2 GK cab (500 @ 4ohms)
but I'm not sure if I'm going to get 1000 watts from the LH1000 because under the specs it says "1000 watts at 4 ohms in bridged mono mode"
So if it's not in bridged mono mode I won't get 1000 watts????

Can someone please help me with this..... THANKS!

Dual Parallel Mode: 2 x 225 watts @ 8 ohms, 2 x 320 watts @ 4 ohms, 2 x 545 watts @ 2 ohms
Bridge Mode: 1 x 750 watts @ 8 ohms, 1 x 1100 watts @ 4 ohms

Using two 4 ohm cabs in Dual mode you will have 640 (using both amp "sides") or 545 watts (both cabs on one "side").
You could ONLY use ONE 4 ohm cab in bridged mode and it would be really dangerous with one 4 ohm 500 watt cab.

This is it. Try running the cabs both ways and see what works best for you. That setup will be plenty loud with two cabs.

Thanks for your help.... I'm still confused :crying:

I don't know if I'm understanding what B-string is trying to say. If I use two cab 500@4ohms I won't get 1000watts?
To get 1000 watts I will have to buy a cab (something like a hartke hydrive 410)?

No.

You dont get watts from the cab. They use the power the amp puts out. You would need two 8 Ohm cabs, run in parallel, which would give you a total impedance of 4 Ohms. Then you can run the LH1000 in bridge mode. That would give you the potential of 1000 watts at 4 Ohms.

Pretty much two 4 Ohm 410's are a poor choice. Unless you are going with an 810, 610, 412, or 215 you should be looking at two 8 Ohm cabs.

Do you already own the two 4 Ohm gk cabs?

Cabs: Have a rating in ohms of impedance they will load an amplifier's outputs. The watts is what they are "rated" to be able to take from an amplifier before burning out.

SS amps: Have a rating for how much load (ohms) they can safely take from speaker cabs before damage or shut down. The wattage they can send to the speakers depends on how "heavy" you load the outputs. A dead short has no impedance (0 ohms VERY heavy load) and will cause BIG trouble with SS amps.

Helping any? As said above, trying to get the 1000 watts when you can get 640 watts is just chasing your tail, you gain very little by catching it.
