Hartke LH500 and LH1000

ok, here you go... ;)

as long as the amp doesn't have an output transformer, it's perfectly fine to use without a speaker load. only amps with output transformers require it. this would include pretty much all amps with a tube power section and the warwick hellborg power amp, the only solid state amp i know of that's currently being made with an output transformer. all other ss amps, including the hartkes, are made without output transformers.

Thanks Jimmy! Larry hadn't gotten back to me on that one. BTW. Good morning!

Thanks.

I have Hartke HS410B cabinet that can handle 240w into 8ohms. is it bossible to use this cab alone with LH500? I read somewhere that it's ok, if i don't turn the vlume knob all the way up. Am i correct?

+1

I'd also like to add: watch the bass EQ!

Sending too much low frequency can quickly push the speakers to it's limits.
Too much bass can also muddy your sound, which will instinctively make you turn up the volume, which would then worsen the whole situation.

luckily, i don't have eq on my bass. hate those things! I have picups that are high on the middle. and yes, you're right, as stupid as it might sound, bass ain't everything in the sound. =D I used to have bass full on the amps eq, but resently learned that it doesn't give anything, just the mud.
