Hartke + VT-bass or LMIII

Hey guys, been reading pretty much everything I can get my hands on about amp heads in the past couple of months, since I'll be purchasing a rig which will hopefully last me a while through some indoor-gigging and weekly practices...

The two options that I've narrowed down are the LMIII and a Hartke LH500 paired with a VT Bass -pedal. I haven't had a chance to actually play the LH500, since virtually no stores seem to have them on stock over here. I did play a LMII the other day and really liked the different tones I could get with it.

Now, if the size/weight -thing is not an issue, I can manage with either, which option would you choose for the best variety of tones/power/value? I'll be pairing the head with a GK Neo 2x12 to start with, possibly adding another 2x12 if the need arises. I'm also open to other suggestions, keep in mind that we don't have access to for example Carvin over here. We play a mixture of rock/ blues/folk with a progressive twist. Two guitarists and a drummer, all of whom know better than to start competing with volume... :)

I know the VT pedal gets a lot of praise here but I have one and would rather go straight into a tube preamp. I've tried to like the sansamp stuff but it's tone doesn't do it for me.

So I would vote the Markbass.
