Hartke VX115 crossover

Just acquired a VX115 cab and the horn isn't doing anything. I'm not a massive tweeter fan anyway, so I'm looking at wiring the speaker straight to the input jack bypassing the crossover if necessary. Does the crossover do anything regarding altering the frequency to the 15" speaker or is it just the horn that comes off the crossover? If the speaker is 'straight through' then I won't bother taking things apart.

Okay, had the electrics out. Turns out the crossover circuit board is cracked in two places probably due to abuse in it's past which isn't sending any signal to the tweeter. In the end I took the whole board out and wired the input jack direct to the 15" speaker. To my ears it sounds no different but at least I know all is doing what it should when my amp is plugged in to it.
