You will find the Hartke products have a great sound and there is an amp/combo that will suit just about everyones personal style and sound.

I use the LH500 and a HyDrive 4X10. Works in every situation I play, including non-stadium outdoor venues. The HyDrives are hybrid paper-aluminum cones, so you get the classic Hartke clarity with added warmth of paper.

Overall, they are guerilla proof and a regular XL series cabinet or combo will take years of road abuse. My old 4X10 only needed replacing because of a roadie accident that destroyed the cabinet. Note: a Hartke cabinet will NOT survive being run over by an industrial, tracked, cherry picker that weighs over 3 tons. ;)

I just recently purchased the LH1000 and a Hydrive 410. Punch and volume for days with this head and cab. Sounds really good. I've had my half stack for about two weeks, and I've been having a blast playing straight through to the head, no effects or anything. It sounds great even plain-Jane no effects. One of these days I'll get around to pulling out the pedalboard :D

The head in bridge mode pumps 750 watts into the one 8 ohm cab. Eventually I want to pick up a second 410 to get the full 1000 watts from the head. That's gonna be.... awesome. :bassist:

Yes, I actually forgot to mention that in my post earlier. The fact that Hartke's customer service is to the level that Larry Hartke himself responds to questions about his company's amps with his personal cell phone number is a major reason I went with them. I'd be hard pressed to think of another company, in the music equipment industry or not, whose head man/woman leaves their personal cell phone number for people to call with questions or concerns.

the only bad experiences i ever had with hartke is with their cheapest series of cabs. i'm not a fan of low budget cabs. love low budget basses, but not cabs. they worked, they just didn't have the more expensive sound i go for. but i've been supplied a lot of hartke stuff over the years on the road by backline companies. that stuff gets used pretty hard, and it's always worked when i've had it.

I have had my LH1000 and Acme 112 Flatwound cab for about 4 months and I can say that the amp has performed without a hitch and IMHO is a perfect match for the Acme. I know that some folks will always say the gear they buy is great without issues because it's "what they bought so it must be the best".... but I can tell you that before I bought my LH1000 I had already had and played through a lot of mid and upper end gear and read a few posts of some problems here and there with the new Hartke heads but I also saw that Larry Hartke stands behind his products so without ever having played through one (or the Acme 112 Flatwound) I bought it sight unseen based on all the reviews and my power needs and I can say without a doubt it's my best bass gear purchase ever hands down.

I have three Hartke cabs. I use a 210Xl at rehearsal. It is perfect for a basement space or a small club. Really nice sounding and tough cab. It has aluminum cones. I stack it on top of a 410VX, which has paper cones and a tweeter. Both cabs together really sound awesome. I didn't really set out to mix paper and aluminum together, but it works great. If I need more speakers than that, I am renting another rig.

I have a Transporter 1x15 cab. The previous owner re-coned it with a Carvin 600W 8ohm speaker. It sounds OK. I toyed with the idea of putting another cone in it, but it is probably headed for craigslist. I like ten inch speakers.

Hartke makes great stuff. I have nothing but positive things to say about them. Larry Hartke is well known for backing his products... to point of posting his cell phone number in this forum so that folks can ask questions or sort out a problem. That sold me.

Hey Bigben, I've just picked up a Hartke LH1000 and 2 x 410XL's from Dream Music at Belmore ( on Canterbury Rd ). They are Hartke dealers and looked after me in regards to price and service.
I've only had this setup for 2 days and can't believe the tone. It sounds a whole lot better than my old 300 watt Fender head and Peavey 1810 bin.:bassist:

Sweet i was thinking the LH1000 and a hydrive 410. what price did they do the LH for?
