has anyone ever seen this Ampeg

Its a svt classic but it has a really odd stock tolex. Its from long and mcquade (music chain) and I was wondering if anyone had seen one of these before or has anymore info.

jimmy , actually i read somewhere that ampeg did a limited run of cl's and svt350's and a 410 cab in the checkered tolex . im lookinng now for the article ..... but they were special for certain dealers like how some manufacturers make special runs for musicians friend and guitar center ....





Ampeg's never put out a blue check SVT-CL. Definitely aftermarket.

Really? I'd like to hear about that if it's true. Anyone know more?
 
On another note, those are mid-90's heads on those special order SVT's. The blue check one at the top is a more recent model. Don't know if this helps you get to the bottom of things, Jarrod, but just thought I'd throw that out there.

January 29, 1998 -- In anticipation of its 30 year anniversary as the "Great American Amp Company," Ampeg is producing the Limited Edition Classic Series SVT Classic head and SVT810E cabinet in red, white and blue.

The SVT Classic head has been a staple in bass players' rigs since the original model debuted in 1969. The SVT Classic features 300 watts of all-tube power with six 6550 power tubes, two 12AU7 driver tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes; input gain and master volume; normal and padded input; three bands of EQ; 5 way mid frequency select; ultra low and high tone modifers; XLR balanced line out; preamp out/power amp in; slave output jack; 4/2 ohm impedance selection; and user biasing controls.

The famous SVT810E is a 4 ohm cabinet with eight 10" drivers and four separate cabinet chambers. Other features include infinite baffle design, 1200 watts program handling, 3" dolly-style casters and tilt-back bar handle.
