Has anyone made a Torzal tist-like neck?

The bass has been finished, had a new body and when humidity rose during summer I found out that the neck bent backwards so much that truss rod couldn't handle it. At the moment the hardware is being used in another bass. The neck design itself is very comfortable to play. I just have to make the neck some other way. All wooden neck would not react to humidity as much as a neck with only one wooden surface. The back of the neck does react to humidity and when the front reacts the result is backbow.

Ouch. Perhaps two rods? I am laminating a fingerboard with carbon fibre soon so no doubt I could have the same problem. Graphite reinforcement and sealing the wood sounds necessary.

I suppose if you seal the wooden back there's no problem. I had unsealed ebony/rosewood laminate fretboard with very well sealed back of the neck.

Argh, the other way around....I see....
The problem with these Torzal type necks is that movement in the direction of the bridge from string pull creates all kinds of weird geometry problems. I feel your pain :-/

Perhaps a neck made with ridiculous amounts of reinforcement (carbon-fibre I-sections?) or the minimum of wood might fix the seasonal problems. A graphite neck would be the gold standard in that respect, however not a practical solution....
