Has anyone read/used this book?

I want to upgrade our PA, & this book was recommended. Right now we just have a powered mixer with two monitors & two mains.

I know the bare bones basics, but wouldn't mind learning more about things like crossovers, rack effects, and so on. Is this book a good primer, or is there another one that's better?

Many like Yamaha's "Live Sound Reinforcement Handbook". You can find it pdf form for download, too. Not real current on digital stuff, but mostly deals with things that are the same, regardless of the technology used.
