Last I heard he was very busy with a new full time gig playing upright in Nashville, the Bass Whisperer has been retired. Forget the band, but very well known.

I have to admit, one thing I loved about his reviews was watching them just to try to learn some of the licks that come pouring out of him - like a free lesson in every video!

Not just in Nashville . . . he has been world touring with the Mavericks. He still does a column for Bass Player, now called R&B Gold. He's chimed in here at TB a couple of times from the road.

Usually roots rock bands bore the hell out of me, but that is a killer band. I bet it would be a lot of fun to play with them.
